Check out Eva manga vol 8 and you'll see that Rei has emotions and very different from the anime.

P.S. I hate Ritsuko the most, even more than Asuka from the anime. >_< Like Misato puts it, shes just an old bitch.

Vol 7 is already out in US. Its rate is actually much faster than in Japan. I read vol 2 back in '98, I think, and vol 8 just came out recently. Thats awefully slow.
